Welcome to the Chaplain’s Road!
To travel on this road, you need to understand that God’s road map will lead you to many different roads ahead. Roads you never thought existed, roads with different personalities and with their own terrain and made of several different backgrounds.
My name is Michael D. D’Alessio, and I am the Chaplain at Pleasant View Homes and Pleasant Hills.
I was asked to start a blog as a way to reach out to those who visit the PVH website and share with you what we experience within this facility and spirituality.
I am married to my wife – Debbie for 42+ years, God has blessed us with two awesome sons and three wonderful grandchildren and soon another blessing later this year. Son, Brandon, his wife Emily and three children, Logan, Kyla, and Titus, also, our Son, Anthony. My wife and I have been members of Living Grace Church, formally known as Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman, for 20 years.
I have a BS degree in Organizational Management from – Christian Heritage College in San Diego, California under the direction of Pastor David Jeremiah.
My background of 45 years is in manufacturing supported by many facets of business thinking processes, from American to Japanese and everywhere in between, like I shared earlier, different roads to travel on. At some point in my life God had directed me toward a different road, a road of ministry. Being very much involved in church, supported by leading bible studies to praising God in singing lead me here to PVH as Chaplain. In June of 2024, Bethel Mennonite Church commissioned me for this position, and I was excited to support this ministry of God’s and still going strong!
As the Chaplain at PVH, I attend morning staff meetings sharing spiritual thoughts with the staff as they too play an especially important role as care providers for the residents.
My specific role as Chaplain is to provide a spiritual journey for those who reside at PVH/Hills whether as a nursing resident and/or independent resident. My goal is to provide Compassion, Comfort, and Confidents in their final days at PVH. In addition to my daily devotions, I bring written songs for them to enjoy, as we sing together as a group or alone in their residential room. I am blessed by this, as I see their faces light up and sense God’s presence. PTL!
