Welcome to the Chaplain’s Road!

Today, I will share with you your PVH Chaplain about what my day is like and throughout the week. Each day has its own surprises! First thing, I attend a morning staff meeting, closing the meeting with a devotion and followed by prayer.

Shortly after the meeting I visit the residents in their neighborhoods they reside in as a group setting. I share devotions and as stated in my earlier blog, we sing together, songs of their choice. I then close in prayer and move on to the next neighborhood, 5 in total. Walnut Court, Plaza, Ivy Grove & Maple Lane, Cottonwood Court, and Harvest House. These visits take place Monday through Wednesday. I also share devotions on Monday and Wednesday with the independent living community in the common area.

On Thursday after the morning staff meeting, I visit residents in their residential rooms for a brief get to know them regarding their family history and where they are spiritually. I call this my “1N1” visits.

When available and needed, I travel to see those residents that are in the hospital for various reasons. This part of God’s ministry is always challenging for me, so I always pray for His guidance first before visiting. It’s amazing how God works if you put Him first, it takes great faith, strength and being humble in these situations.

So, as we close, let’s take a moment to pause and read the most powerful promise of God’s love for us.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
